The week of November 3rd-November 7th I have been entering Mrs. Sarette and Mrs. Parkinson's 3rd grade classrooms to talk to the students about Bullying. I review with them what a bully is as well as a victim and bystander.
We also discuss several strategies to use if they are ever in a bullying situation.
  • Ignore the bully
  • Walk away from the bully
  • Stay near a group of people (peers or friends)
  • Confront the bully confidently
  • Use humor to deflect the situation
  • Tell a trusted adult

Both classes participated in role-plays, created drawings using the strategies discussed, and played a game.
